Extracurriculars | Senior Program

Afternoons at the Senior Program offer a number of activities which mirror the extracurricular environment you’ll find when you get to college. With plenty of options and the ability to choose what you’ll participate in, the extracurricular programming at the Senior Program gives you the chance to make each day different. You can play a game of ultimate Frisbee, learn improv games, make sushi, join a staff-led discussion, or opt out of activities to check your email, hang out with your suitemates, relax with a book, or go into town for ice cream. At night, you can cap off your day by attending a hip-hop dance show or watching a hypnotist. The balance of structure and choice at the Senior Program helps prepare you for the task of managing your time and interests in college.



Every day at Explo you get to choose from more than 15 unique activities. In the past, main events have included bands from the college circuit, dance troupe Phunk Phenomenon, improv comedy troupes, and hypnotists. Other Main Events are generated by students and staff, such as Explopalooza, Carnival Night, and the Staff Talent Show. Each session, the Program takes over Toad's Place, New Haven’s legendary night club, for an Explo-exclusive dance party.
