Learn by Exploring

Responding to requests from parents and students, individual tutoring will be available at the Intermediate Program in writing and math. In addition, Wellesley College coaches are available for private lessons in tennis and squash.

For more information or to schedule, please call Anne Haley, the Intermediate Program registrar, at 781.762.7400.
Students and instructors come to Explo because they’re excited about learning. Unlike typical middle school curricula, Exploration courses do not revolve around tests, homework, or formal evaluations. Instead, our courses are based on dynamic, hands-on activities and discussions. Exploration courses and workshops are introductory in nature and provide you with an opportunity to develop and express your natural talents or explore new interests and skills in a pressure-free environment. Working closely with your instructors and fellow students, you will have a direct impact on how your class progresses and the direction your learning takes.

Courses
Prior to the summer, choose from our list of more than 60 different courses ranging in subject matter from the arts and natural sciences to engineering and business. You will enroll in two courses per session. Many courses culminate in a final project or performance — all courses engage students with interactive instruction every step of the way. You will be amazed at what you will accomplish in just three weeks. Click here for course listings.

Workshops
Workshops come in an array of academic, athletic, and artistic options and are a chance for you to get a taste of something new. Workshops occur on Wednesdays, and you take two workshops per session. Because they're brief (only 6 hours of instruction total), workshops are a great opportunity to “dip into” something you've never tried before — whether that's juggling, kayaking, lacrosse, or Japanese cooking.  Click here for workshop listings.
