The St. Mark’s Campus
EXPLO Vet is located on the beautiful campus of St. Mark’s School in Southborough, Massachusetts. St. Mark’s is one of the country’s oldest and most prominent coeducational college preparatory schools, located on a picturesque campus (literally — it's appeared in numerous films) with 250 acres of athletic fields, woodlands, and ponds.
Everything on the St. Mark's School campus is right at your fingertips: amazing classroom facilities, a fantastic dining hall, an outdoor pool, administrative offices, and a 24/7 health center. And it's location 26 miles west of Boston makes it a great location for taking advantage of one of the nation's great historical, cultural, and educational centers. It's a tremendous setting for the intellectual, social, and recreational growth of EXPLO. You'll love it!
Featured Trips + Equipment
You’ll have the opportunity to visit a real, functioning traditional farm to learn and explore livestock maintenance and the facilities. As an adventure on the wild side, you’ll explore is the Franklin Park Zoo, visiting the animal hospital and preparing meals in the commissary for exotic animals.
You’ll work with canine and feline medical mannikins — featuring an artifical pulse and realistic airway representations — which allows you to practice mouth-to-snout resuscitation, IV draw and injections, and splinting and bandaging. You’ll also preform an organ dissection, use life-sized animal dissection models, and practice suturing wounds on synthetic limbs and tissues. And don’t forget the fully equipped lab spaces where you’ll be running parasitology, toxicology, and other hands-on labs to perfect your veterinary skills.
