Wellesley College Facilities
For more than 25 years, Explo has made its home on the breathtaking campus of Wellesley College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Considered one of the top liberal arts colleges in the nation, Wellesley is located 14 miles west of Boston.
The scenic 500-acre campus includes a large lake, a multi-million dollar sports complex, ponds, woodlands, an arboretum, and miles of foot paths — providing the perfect setting for the intellectual, social, and recreational growth of Explo.
All of our students and staff live on campus in private dormitories surrounding a common quad. With a beautiful lake, grand architecture, classroom spaces, and a recently renovated athletic complex, you will have exclusive access to an incredible setting for your summer experience.
EXPLO Chef Resources
As part of EXPLO Chef, you’ll have the chance to step inside the kitchen of a real professional chef — every day! You’ll be crafting meals and learning recipes in the commercial kitchens on the campus of Newbury College, which includes two pastry kitchens and one mise en place kitchen.
You’ll even have access to the nitty gritty tools of the trade as you learn to use industrial mixers, commercial grade gas ranges, stainless steel prep stations, professional knives, and every other culinary tool you’ll need to feel perfectly at home in a professional kitchen.
