Afternoon and Evening Enjoyment
After collecting evidence at a crime scene, painting a pastoral landscape, or shopping for an American feast — and doing it all in English — the day is not over! The evenings are jam-packed with fun and adventure! In the late afternoon, students will hang out with friends and take part in activities in the arts, athletics, or the absurd (like the world's largest robot dance).
Every night there are two or more "Main Events" to choose from: watch a live on-campus performance, play basketball at the Sports Center, go to a movie with some friends, or attend an open mic. Other options may include an evening cruise of the Boston Harbor and inflatable rides at Carnival Night, EXPLO Gladiators and EXPLO Idol.
Living at Wellesley
During the summer, students will be living and learning with a diverse group of EXPLO English students. All the students in EXPLO English are housed on the same floor (boys on one hall, girls on another) of a dorm with other EXPLO English students. Living on the campus of Wellesley College is not only a lot of fun, but also a great learning experience.
For many students, EXPLO is their first time living with a roommate or the first time they do laundry on their own. And while students will learn what it's like to live away from home, they won't be on your own. Their Residential Advisors live on their hall and will be with them every step of the way, making sure they are comfortable, safe, and happy.
Weekend Trips
Each weekend day, all EXPLO English students will venture off-campus on different cultural, educational, and recreational excursions, including sight-seeing, theater trips, outdoor adventures, amusement parks, and on-campus staff-led clinics.
